Hi,

due to the need of more input and help from other developers and frontend engineers, I decided to move the whole project to Github. In the next few weeks I'm going to redirect pulsaros.com to GitHub and create a static page for downloads, documentation etc... What does this mean for you?

As developer:

  • You're now able to build PulsarOS with the newly created framework
  • You can take part on developer decisions (commits on GitHub)
  • You can send bug reports and feature suggestions through the central issue tracker

As user:

  • Dokumentation will be written in the GitHub WIKI system
  • You're still able to get a complete build of PulsarOS (Image)
  • You're able to track changes in the code (and see what is going to change in the next releases)

The newly created GitHub page is available under:

https://github.com/tbrandstetter/PulsarOS

See you

Today I installed the development framework Redmine to implement a better bug tracking and problem reporting tool. All registered users will have access to it and should be able to login with their existing credentials. If there is any problem, don't hesitate to contact me. Feel free to create issues and bug reports. You can find the system under:

http://dev.pulsaros.com/projects/backend

or if you click on the "Report bugs" menu item.

Because you asked me, here is my plan (roadmap) for the next versions of PulsarOS:

0.6alpha (next release)

  • fixed bugs from the user forum and which I noticed --> done
  • integrate iscsi volumes --> done
  • integrate user authentication (admin) --> done
  • integrate afp
  • integrate smartmon to get disk errors visually into the pool area
  • integrate pacman package manager for system updates, sdk and plugin installation
0.7alpha
  • possibility to change usernames
  • possibility to change volumenames
  • create a wizard to easily expand pools with new disks
  • integrate a first version of the plugin system
  • work on the documentation (install the system, configuring the system, create plugins,...)
  • integrate useful feedback from the community - yes I mean you :-)
That's it for now. Please start your discussion in the forum or leave comments in the comments section.
Thanks
